Cause: missing Visual C++ runtime (32% of all fatal-error reports). Fix: install VC++ 2015–2022 x64 Redistributable and reboot - bundled since v2.7.6, so a reinstall of current Delta X also fixes it. Persistent case: reinstall into C:\DeltaX; paths with spaces or non-Latin characters trigger it on some Windows 10 installs.

Cause: Gatekeeper quarantining the unsigned build. Fix: System Settings → Privacy & Security → scroll to "Delta X was blocked" → Open Anyway. Terminal route: xattr -cr /Applications/DeltaX.app. One-time operation; works identically on Intel and Apple Silicon (Rosetta 2 installs automatically on first launch).
Cause: false positive on the dllhost shim - standard for every executor. Fix: restore from quarantine, add an exclusion for the install folder, then hash-check the binary to be sure Defender caught the real file and not a fake you picked up earlier. Match → keep it. Mismatch → delete everything and re-download.
Cause: the script's host moved after a game patch (404 on HttpGet). Fix: switch to the built-in hub version of that script - hub links are re-synced automatically. For custom loadstrings, test the URL in a browser first; if it 404s, the script is dead. All modern Delta X API functions (request, hookmetamethod, getconnections) are live - the failure is the link, not the executor.
Cause: script expects a different game or server-side changes broke it. Fix: check the editor error line pointer - a red line means the script itself fails; read the message, it usually names the missing function. Try the same script in the hub. If the hub version works and the pasted one doesn't, your source is outdated - grab the current one.
